Italy, Azerbaijan discuss expanding consular cooperation PHOTO
Rome hosted on February 21 the third inter-consular consultations of the foreign ministries of Italy and Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by the head of the consular department of the Foreign Ministry Emil Safarov, and the Italian delegation was headed by the head of the Main Directorate for Italians Living Abroad and Migration Policy of the Foreign Ministry Luigi Vignali, according to Report.
The meeting was also attended by the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy Rashad Aslanov, as well as an official from the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
During the consultations, the current situation and prospects for the development of consular cooperation with Italy, which is an important partner country for Azerbaijan, as well as the possibility of signing new bilateral documents and digitalization of consular services were considered.
The meeting also focused on the applicable visa regimes, as well as the issue of expanding the possibilities for issuing visas for Azerbaijani citizens wishing to visit Italy for educational and tourist purposes and the issue of mutual recognition of documents issued by relevant government agencies.
An agreement was reached between the parties to hold the next round of inter-consular consultations in Baku in 2024.
