Milli Majlis Speaker: Azerbaijan highly values Tajikistan’s achievements
Azerbaijan expresses deep appreciation for Tajikistan's accomplishments, according to Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova.
She made this remark during an international parliamentary conference in Dushanbe commemorating the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan's Constitution, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Gafarova emphasized the long-standing ties between the Azerbaijani and Tajik peoples, highlighting their shared history, culture, religion, and common values.
“Our peoples have always coexisted in peace, tranquillity, friendship, and mutual understanding. These strong foundations underpin our interstate relations,” she noted.
She recognized the pivotal roles played by Azerbaijan’s national leader, Heydar Aliyev, and Tajikistan’s President, Emomali Rahmon, in fostering these relations. Gafarova pointed out that the negotiations and agreements made during the mutual visits of Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Emomali Rahmon, along with various signed documents, have significantly enhanced bilateral cooperation across all sectors.
During her working visit to Tajikistan for the International Parliamentary Conference, Gafarova and other parliamentary delegation leaders met with President Emomali Rahmon on October 10. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among parliaments within international and regional inter-parliamentary organizations.
