Azerbaijan, Pakistan chiefs of army staff explore strengthened military cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan's First Deputy Defence Minister and Army Chief, Colonel General Karim Valiyev met with the Pakistani Army Chief, General Asim Munir during an official visit to Karachi.
Col. Gen. Valiyev underscored the significance of fostering collaboration with Pakistan, a nation described as both friendly and fraternal, Caliber.Az reports via Defence Ministry.
He highlighted that advancing cooperation across all spheres, including the military, remains a priority for the President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
During the meeting, the leaders emphasised the need to deepen bilateral military cooperation and increase the frequency of joint exercises. They commended the ongoing progress in the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
In addition, Colonel General Valiyev condemned the recent terror attack in the Tirah Valley, northwestern Pakistan, and extended his condolences to the victims’ families and the Pakistani government.
The discussions also covered broader military collaboration, counter-terrorism efforts, and shared security challenges, underscoring the commitment of both nations to strengthening their defence ties.
