Azerbaijani diaspora protests Swiss Parliamentary survey Urges responsible dialogue
A group of Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in Switzerland has expressed strong discontent with a biased survey submitted to the Swiss government by members of the country's Federal Assembly.
The survey, perceived as unfavorably portraying Azerbaijan, has sparked a protest that underscores the importance of fostering positive relations between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
In a formal statement submitted to the Swiss Parliament, the diaspora highlighted concerns regarding the accusations of "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing" discussed within Swiss state institutions. They asserted that such claims do not reflect the realities on the ground and cautioned against the influence of anti-peace forces in the South Caucasus pursuing their agendas through misinformation.
Additionally, the statement emphasized the significance of the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan in November. The diaspora organizations pointed out that this conference represents a vital opportunity for addressing global environmental challenges and fostering regional peace.
The diaspora called on members of the Swiss Parliament to approach these matters responsibly and to refrain from manipulation regarding issues that impact the integrity of Azerbaijani sovereignty and the broader geopolitical landscape.
